Game Drives

Game drives can be arranged with our manager, Riëtte Smit. She will gladly arrange a game viewing experience for you. Game drives are conducted in a safari vehicle with an overhead cover to protect you from the sun and raised seating for better game viewing.

What to bring

Please ensure that you have sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, comfortable shoes and your camera and binoculars.

During the summer months bring lightweight clothing, a bathing suit and a towel for swimming, as well as mosquito repellent and a warm jacket for game drives.

During the winter you can wear lightweight clothes during the day, but you will need warm clothes for the nights and game drives.

Other important information

  • Firewood:
    There is complimentary firewood for one braai. Should you need more, you can buy wood packs for R10 or R15 each.
  • Food and drink:
    The lodge is self-catering, so you need to bring your own food and drink.
  • Directions:
     These will be provided upon confirmation of booking.

RULES

Private vehicle

Driving in a private vehicle is not permitted, except between Mokaikai Gate and Samara Guest Lodge, for purposes of getting to and from the lodge.​

Non-smoking

Kindly note that the lodge is non-smoking.
